I am with you always…

On Sunday we spoke at a church in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with all that’s been going on with my dad. My emotions have been right on the surface, so I wasn’t sure how I would do. Jeff and I prayed together that God would give me strength. I know others were praying for us as well. The service went well. I could feel the Holy Spirit beside me the whole time, and more than ever before I sensed that he was encouraging me and giving me the words to speak.

During the last part of my part of the presentation I spoke on Matthew 28:16-20. Jesus’ Great Commission to all believers to spread the gospel to the whole world is in here. I shared about different aspects of this commandment and how everyone who believes in Jesus must tell others. I tied that in with Bible translation.

I love the last part of that passage, and it spoke to me powerfully in this situation. “And be sure of this: I am with you always, even until the end of the age.” (Matt 28:20b, NLT) Jesus never promises that our lives as Christians will be easy or full of everything we want, but he does promise to always be with us. That gives me comfort.

Thanks for your prayers for us and my family.
